  • I hit vote instead of reply - definitely in error. The FT rocketship is still on the launch pad -- how can people be so gullible? The $4 billion was a good example of the effort to distort the truth. Most of that represents ground work that had to be done for either plan.

  • It's hilarious how many people make these statements as if they were the Oracle of Delphi. It's not worth taking the time to refute them -- that will happen soon enough. The Freedom Tower is an icon indeed, of an arrogant, smug, clueless minority that wants to overrule the good sense of others.

  • There should be a better way to advance your point of view than to say something as easily disproved as that the Towers weren't loved by New Yorkers and that they weren't symbols off American greatness and promise. It's either ignorant or dishonest or self-deluded.

  • It's true that if Pataki & Co hadn't interfered, and the "it would be too bad to erase the erasure" school of city planning, crawling with egos lusting after the WTC, the Port Authority and Silverstein would have rebuilt the Towers.
